A Tickled Pink Party has been around for several years and we have been part of some pretty exciting birthday parties! Recently we have been invited to several “Hotel” parties. The parents have reserved 2 or more hotel room suites, invited their daughter’s friends and hosted their parties in the hotel!
When I received the first call, I was very skeptical. I couldn’t help but wonder if I was on the phone with a practical joker, or perhaps some crazy stalker waiting to see if I would really show up! I explained our Spa D’Dah party and how we could set it up in the hotel, reserved the date, and took the required down payment. Then I made a call to my business partner. Safety in numbers, right! I wasn’t going there alone!
When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the front desk and shown to our room. The girls were in a limo having a tour of downtown Atlanta. We were able to set up and have everything ready by the time the girls made their way back to the hotel for the big “Surprise”. Not only could they not believe they were staying at the hotel, they couldn’t believe we were there for the Spa portion of the party either! The Hotel parties that followed were of similar nature, minus the limo ride & surprise. The other girls were expecting us!
I have to admit; my first reaction was that this was probably a little extravagant. After having been part of the party I also have to admit, it was incredibly easy. The parents had separate quarters from the girls, they had tons of snacks, movies, our Spa D’Dah party and an indoor swimming pool! I am guessing the fact that housekeeping had to clean up before you got there, and after you left was probably a HUGE plus for the moms!
Keeping in mind that these girls are typically 11-13 years old, what are your thoughts on the hotel party? Have you hosted one? Would you consider it? Do you think it’s too extravagant for a child’s birthday?
Leave your comments! I love to hear your opinion!
Thanks!
